Tickets are free and available by calling (918) 365-1111 or at www.tulsapraise.com

About the show:

Recently back from an historic performance at the 125th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty in New York City, the Tulsa Praise Orchestra has announced an upcoming concert to honor our Nation’s Veterans on Armed Forces Day – on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 at the Green Country Event Center in Tulsa. This incredible and inspiring show starts at 6 p.m.

“An American Celebration” is a big-band patriotic musical celebration of family, faith & freedom and will feature a rousing tribute to our Veterans who reside here in and around Green Country,” reports Bob Archer, Chairman of the project.

National Recording Artist Ernestine Dillard will perform along with Oklahoma natives Alice Coe and Jack Spratt in a variety of songs that are sure to tug at emotions. The Tulsa Praise Orchestra is best described as a 22 piece Big Band best known for its upbeat patriotic and Gospel music repertoire.

Mix in a large choir led by John Lincks and you have the makings of an exciting and upbeat patriotic and gospel show that is dubbed as Broadway quality entertainment.

“We are very honored to salute our Veterans on this special day! These heroes make it possible for us to enjoy the many freedoms that make us the envy of the world”, says Archer.

The Tulsa Praise Orchestra has performed over 500 concerts throughout the nation since its start over 16 years ago. The Celebration Singers, a large choir made up of singers from all over Oklahoma are the newest performance group that often accompanies the orchestra. “Working with this choir has definitely added a powerful new dimension to our concerts”, said Archer, “Our audiences have loved the choir and we’re anxious to show them off in Tulsa”.

Special guest Lieutenant Commander Jim Bridenstine will be on hand with a story about the freedoms we enjoy in this nation.

Tickets for this upcoming concert are free, but are needed for entrance. Tickets are available by calling (918) 365-1111 or at the website www.tulsapraise.com

WHAT IS THE DRIVE THRU DIFFERENCE?
The Drive Thru Difference is an easy way for you to make a difference in your community and make someone’s day. It’s faith in action, and it’s really easy. All you have to do is pay for the person’s food or drink behind you in the Drive Thru.

You never know what type of difference you could make in their lives of those around you. The person working at the restaurant sees you making a difference, and the person behind you may even decide to do the same thing for the person behind them.

The Next Drive Thru Difference Day will be April 26th. This will be an “impact day” when we encourage everyone to participate on the same day. So print some letters below and keep them in your car for Thursday, April 26th!

Listen to some of the phone calls we received during our Impact day on February 1, 2012.

SO, HOW DO YOU TAKE PART?
- Print out the letter below
- Go through your favorite drive thru and place your order
- When you pay, tell the cashier you want to pay for the person behind you.
- Ask them to give the letter you printed out to the person you paid for. This is important so that we can hear about the impact you made on their day.
- Get your order and go on about your day knowing you blessed someone else!

Click the letter below to get a PDF copy you can easily print copies of and keep in your glove box so your always ready to make a difference in someone’s life.

Well, first off… what a GREAT welcome to Tulsa!

I can already sense that the people here are special, and my family and I are feeling right at home! We started learning the song (Oooooooklahoma..!) because somebody (I won’t mention any names, Heather!) told us that everyone who moved here should, but it turns out I was just being hazed! Not usually so gullible… And now, I can’t seem to get it out of my head!

Kevin Brooks with his family

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Tammy. She’s the “wife of my youth” and the love of my life! We have three kids that we’re very proud of; Tyler who is an engineering student at Clemson. He just married Carly last summer (giving us ANOTHER daughter and the sweetest one you could imagine!), Jordan, our 18 year-old and family comedian, and Ellie, our youngest, and the most interesting of all of us!

I am so excited that God brought us to Tulsa and KXOJ! You already know this, but this is a very special radio station and I’m very proud of my coworkers and all that they’ve accomplished here. It really is a privilege to be a part of what God is doing through KXOJ!
