After 31 years as a teacher (the last 15 as principal of Tulsa’s East Central High School) Tom O’Malley will be on an episode of the truTV reality series “The Principal’s Office” this Thursday night at 8, on cable channel 51.
A couple of quotes from the show include:
“I can’t take gym today because I’ll have a bad hair day.”
Phone conversation - “Joey Brown can’t come to school today because he’s ill.” The principal asks: “Who is this?” The caller answers: “This is my father.” Principal: “Joey, you have 20 minutes to get back to school.”

Nineteen-year-old Muskogee Mayor John Tyler Hammons is one of the Oklahoma delegates at the Republican National Convention and says people are seeking him out. Hammons says governors, senators, Cabinet secretaries and former presidential candidates are asking him to be in a picture with him. He became the state’s youngest mayor when he was elected four months ago. Hammons is a John McCain delegate although he says his first choice was former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
With all the news of Huricane Gustav (now a tropical depression), Hurricane Hannah and tropical storm Ivan, it has us all thinking of proper preparation when wicked weather strikes.
This totally surprised us this morning…food handling permits are not required by restaurant employees in Locust Grove and in many other cities in northeastern Oklahoma!The revelation comes after nearly sixty people were sickened, including many who ate at a Locust Grove restaurant.The cities in northeastern Oklahoma that do require food handler’s permits include Tulsa, Tahlequah, Claremore, Muskogee and Bartlesville.
