Every year about this time I get a stuffy nose, a little cough, then it seems to creep into my chest to become this horrible thing called bronchitis. I’ve had it every winter for years. It’s a mixture of so many things that it bores even me to go into them all. Basically it is hard to do my job sometimes because having a full voice to do commercials and to laugh even on the morning show is necessary to do my job well. My family would love me to feel better because they love me but also because I complain about it all the time I say, “I could do so much more for Christ if I just had more of a voice! I could play with kids more outside every winter if I could get rid of this bronchitis! Why am I going through this every single year?” While God is my provider AND healer I also know he teaches us all through different means. Ways that He may need to truly get through to us. It makes me remember 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 which says,
“So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
His grace IS sufficient for YOU. I don’t write all of this for you to feel sorry for me, for some are going through much more than I am facing everyday but to encourage you that God knows what you can handle and sometimes uses things in our lives to bring us closer to Him. Who knows, that might even be a sniffle on a snowy Oklahoma morning.
