A funny thing happened on the way to the radio station…like, there wasn’t supposed to BE a trip to the radio station!I was working in retail when I started volunteering at a local Christian radio station. After a while the DJs started throwing me on air and the station manager eventually offered me a job. I worked at 97.1 KCVO in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks for four years. I thought maybe some day I would get a job at a station in Florida, California or the hub of Christian music, Nashville. I did get a job offer…in…Tulsa. Tulsa? Who knew the Promised Land was paved with orange traffic cones and a giant golden driller?
I’ve been with 100.9 KXOJ since 2005. It’s been a journey I never planned, but thankfully God knows best. It took a while to get acclimated, but I learned to love Tulsa not just for what it has to offer, but more importantly for the people. Some of my best friends and adopted family are here and I’m happy to call Tulsa home.
Oh, and since this is a bio, I was born on Valentine’s Day, love photography, my roommate’s name is Melissa though she receives mail addressed to ‘Meling’ and eggs are gross.
