and OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center
WHO: The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, in partnership with The William S. Smith Charitable Trust, bring a Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer ™ fundraising event to Tulsa, raising money for innovative cancer research.
WHAT: Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation will host a Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ fundraising event, presented by The William S. Smith Charitable Trust. This inspiring two-day event will honor those impacted by cancer while raising funds to support lifesaving research.

Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Celebration Ice Show presented by The William S. Smith Charitable Trust will be emceed by Olympic champion, cancer survivor, and CARES Founder Scott Hamilton. Featuring performances by local fundraisers and skating superstars, this spectacular show promises an evening of entertainment and hope. Proceeds equally benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center.

Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Frozen 5k presented by The William S. Smith Charitable Trust
invites participants to skate 35 laps at the Oilers Ice Center in honor of those impacted by cancer. Whether you’re an experienced skater or stepping onto the ice for the first time, each lap completed helps advance groundbreaking cancer research funded through the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center.

William (Will) Smith was a beloved and generous member of Tulsa’s philanthropic community. Will was a successful figure skater in his youth competing at the national level in singles and pairs with his sister, Susan. After the end of his skating career, he began a 50-year association with United States Figure Skating serving as a referee and judge for singles, pairs, and synchronized skating. Will judged at a number of international competitions, including the 2006 Winter Olympic in Torino, Italy. He also served on the body’s Board of Directors and as Midwestern Vice President.
